A hotel and resort consortium with 100+ full time employees is looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager for one of its resort. The Assistant Manager is responsible for food and beverage services and production throughout this resort


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximize the sales efforts with a combination of excellent sales and customer service skills

  • Ensure at all times the health and hygiene standards are adhered to government regulations and monitor the daily hygiene and work practices in both service and production.

  • Provide excellent customer service by resolving issues, addressing inquiries and anticipating our guests’ expectations with a positive and friendly attitude.

  • Establish customer service guidelines within the department and give staff greater authority to make decisions pertaining to guest satisfaction.

  • Build and maintain respectful, positive working relationships with staff, supervisors, outside agencies and guests to ensure seamless flow of communication interdepartmentally and amongst the management team.

  • Work with all managers and staff to maintain exceptional quality while meeting guest expectations.

  • Processing time sheets by documenting hours, banked days and holiday pay requests.

  • Assists in delivering effective orientation and training for new staff and professional development activities for experienced staff are planned and implemented.

  • Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures.

  • Reading guest comments and following up on issues to maintain excellent customer service levels.

  • Addresses guest complaints and advises the Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken.

  • Meet with F&B Manager weekly to review all catering preparation of upcoming events.

  • Ensuring all staff is aware of and complies with food service standards.

  • Assists in completing health and safety inspections of the kitchen and food & beverage areas.

  • Assists in monitoring purchasing and receiving procedures to ensure proper quantity, quality, and price for all purchases.

  • Maintains records of special events, house counts, food covers and daily business volumes.

  • Works with Sales & Marketing to approve external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities.

  • Assures that all applicable policies and procedures are followed.

  • Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are consistently followed.

  • Ensuring customers receive high quality, well presented food & beverage items.

  • Ensuring a clean, organized and well-maintained Front of House.

  • Takes ownership and leads the department when Manager is not available

  • Assists in implement and monitor sanitation and cleaning schedules.

  • Assists in monitoring all product invoices related to F&B.

  • Assists in monitoring all legal requirements are consistently followed, including wage/ hour and federal and provincial laws for food safety and the sale/consumption of alcoholic beverages.

  • Establishes and maintains professional business relations with vendors.

  • Completes periodic china, glass, and silverware inventories.

  • Completes any other duties as assigned by Management.
