Actuarial Administrative Assistant

$45,000 to $50,000

  • Lead month/quarter-end activities, including the production of financial results, reserve runs and capital reporting

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports (sales, profitability) for senior leaders

  • Prepare reporting for Third Party Administrator partners in adherence to contract terms

  • Data prep to support ad-hoc tasks as required

  • Support other actuarial tasks, including industry and experience studies, budgeting, Financial Condition Testing, Appointed Actuary’s Report and IFRS17 implementation

  • Support pricing analysis for renewals and special quotes, including experience analysis and developing/updating pricing models

  • Support renewal of reinsurance treaties


  • Undergraduate degree preferably in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or risk management

  • 2 years or more of relevant experience

  • Prior life insurance experience or understanding of actuarial concepts is an asset but not required

  • Ability to learn and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Able to see the big picture and not afraid to challenge the status quo

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of French is an asset

  • Highly organized, able to take initiative and work independently

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at a time

  • Proficiency in Excel, Access and other MS Office programs
